  • Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance for payment of services. We do provide superbills which patients may submit to their insurance policy for reimbursement if they have coverage. We also offer verification of insurance benefits for active patients to assist in understanding the potential for reimbursement for acupuncture.

  • Do you take Medicare or Medicaid?

    No, we do not.

  • What happens during the consultation?

During your in-person consultation you’ll meet with Kristin Cheng - our licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She’ll go over your health history and current health concerns and goals. Using the information acquired from your intake, conversation, and an exam if appropriate, she’ll determine whether you are a good candidate for our services. If you are, you’ll receive a personalized treatment plan. You’ll have a chance to ask any questions you may have about the treatment.

We'll also go over the cost of treatment and payment options including treatment packages that include a discount and payment plans.

In most cases you'll have a chance to get started with your first treatment right away if you would like to, but there is no obligation to do so.

  • How much does treatment cost?

The cost of treatment depends on your treatment plan as determined during the consultation as well as which treatment package is selected. The consultation itself is completely free, and it is a necessary step in determining what the cost and value of treatment will be for you.

Frequency and length of treatment will be determined during the consultation. A single session ranges from $110 - $175.

  • How long does treatment take?

Follow-up acupuncture appointments are 30-40 minutes.

  • Does acupuncture hurt?

    In short, no.

Acupuncture needles are up to 30x thinner than hypodermic needles (the kind you would typically encounter in a doctor's office). Unlike hypodermic needles, acupuncture needles are not hollow - they are solid. This allows them to be extremely thin, flexible, and designed with your comfort in mind. They are also sterile and single-use.

While there is sometimes a momentary pinch as the needles is placed, there should not be any lingering discomfort. We take great care in maintaining open communication so that you have a very comfortable session.

Even our patients who first came to us with a fear of needles come to love their treatments and find them very relaxing!

  • What does treatment include?

Treatment includes acupuncture and may incorporate Chinese herbal prescriptions, cupping, gua sha, infrared heat, topical herbal liniments, lifestyle and nutritional recommendations, and stretching and/or strengthening exercises for musculoskeletal issues.

  • What do you treat?

Everyone can benefit from acupuncture as it is excellent preventative medicine. However, most patients seeking acupuncture are looking for relief from a health issue that has a daily impact on their lives. Here are some of the health goals that we address:

✔️ Neck, shoulder, back pain relief

    ✔️ Stress and anxiety relief

✔️ Hormone balancing for happier periods

✔️ Fertility and IVF, IUI support

    ✔️ Brain fog relief

✔️ Improved energy and mental clarity

    ✔️ Mood boosting

✔️ Feel more grounded and calm

    ✔️ Improved Sleep

    ✔️ Improved Digestion

    (and more)!

  • What COVID precautions are you taking?

Following the lifting of mask mandates and screening requirements for healthcare settings in NYC, masks are no longer required. Hand sanitizer is readily available, and we follow all local guidelines and industry best practices in regard to cleaning and disinfection. Air purifiers are present throughout the space including all treatment rooms. Acupuncturist Kristin Cheng has been vaccinated against COVID-19 since February 2021 and continues to stay up to date with COVID and Flu vaccinations.
